There is always something going on at QVSR, whether it be a quiz night, a trp out to a local museum or gathering to watch a sporting event on the large screen in the Connaught Lounge.

Christmas is always a major event at QVSR, but as most of the residents are on their own, QVSR staff like to continue the 'family' atmosphere throughout the year by celebrating Saints' days, religious festivals and national days.

Over Easter, besides recieving an Easter Egg, residents can join in the hunt for the Golden Easter Egg, enter a raffle for a sumptuous Easter Hamper, and guess the number of mini eggs in a jar. There is always some friendly rivalry at the Easter Bonnet parade at the monthly Luncheon Club.

Through the year we alos commemorate historic and notable events such as Armistice Day, 9/11 and 7/7 with services of remembrance in our chapel.

In September 2006. we plan to hold the first '"QVSR Day" which will be aimed at promoting the work of QVSR and the role we play in the local community. Both staff and residents will join in the the day by sharing their talents, whether it be writing, painting, singing or playing a musical instrument.
