The QVSR Rev’d David Roe Annual Lecture

🌟 A Thought-Provoking Afternoon at QVSR 🌟

Our 5th QVSR Rev’d David Roe Annual Lecture, was delivered by our Chair, Sir Alastair Norris. His lecture, titled “The Sea of Faith”, offered a compelling reflection on how attitudes toward religion have evolved over time, and how faith continues to shape our present-day lives.

We were delighted to welcome Cllr Suluk Ahmed, Speaker of Tower Hamlets, Revd Dr. Jonathan Hustler, Secretary of the Methodist Conference, and Leslie Morgan OBE, Deputy Lieutenant for Tower Hamlets, who joined us for this special occasion.

After the lecture, guests, residents, and staff were invited to ask questions, and then gathered together to enjoy refreshments and lively conversation, an embodiment of the community spirit that lies at the heart of QVSR.

These annual lectures were inspired by our Chaplain, Revd Cameron Kirkwood, and are named in honour of Revd David Roe, the first Methodist Superintendent of the Queen Victoria Seafarers Rest. His vision and dedication laid the foundation for all that we continue to build today.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so enjoyable.
