“Seafarers Summer Games” event

In conjunction with the Port of London Authority (PLA) we held a “Seafarers’ Summer Games” event at Tilbury Seafarers Centre on Thursday, 29th May.

It was a fun-filled day of friendly competition, team spirit, and seafaring camaraderie complete with a tasty BBQ – a celebration of community, collaboration and a shared commitment to improving lives on and around the Thames.

The aim was to raise awareness and highlight the vital role we play in supporting the welfare and well-being of seafarers and local communities, and to foster collaboration – bringing together PLA stakeholders, partners and community members to build connections and strengthen partnerships in a fun and engaging setting.

Five teams from the Queen Victoria Seafarers Rest, Port of London Authority, Port of Tilbury, DP World, and DKT Shipping competed in games of basketball, football, pool, table tennis, table football and mini-golf.

Congratulations to the team from DP World who were the overall winners! The medals were presented by Thurrock Deputy Mayor, Steve Liddiard.

We would like to thank everyone for their participation and support of this event – it was a fantastic day, full of fun and laughter and some friendly rivalry!
